Service manuals and technical documentation

Getinge was founded in 1904 and has since provided hospitals all over the world, primarily in intensive and cardiovascular care, with medical and technical equipment. Globally, they have more than 10,000 employees, and in 2020 their turnover reached approximately SEK 30 billion.

The ‘Critical Care’ business unit is stationed in Solna, north of Stockholm, where the 400 employees are focused on the most advanced anesthesia system on the market, Flow, and respirators of the model Servo. Servo has been leading the market for decades.

Autotech has had a team of technical communicators on site in Solna since 2015. The consultants have been placed in the unit that produces service manuals and other technical documentation for the Flow and Servo systems. The assignment holds great demand on understanding technically advanced systems as the manuals constitute the main material of Getinge’s internal educations for service engineers.

During our collaboration, the documentation has been refined and improved to meet Getinge’s high demands on publishing pedagogical and correct information in a clear and efficient way. When the latest model of the Flow system was to be introduced, Autotech was commissioned to produce a manual that not only included previous models, but also that each model could be easy to find.
